Martin Johnson House Wedding at Scripps La Jolla, San Diego

The Martin Johnson House in Scripps La Jolla, San Diego is another one of my favorite venues to photograph weddings at. The Martin Johnson House is such a great venue if you are planning a wedding for a more intimate wedding that is 100 people or less.

The Martin Johnson House is on a beach cliff that overlooks the beautiful La Jolla cove.  Chelsea and Jesse styled their wedding beautifully by keeping all the florals white and green with touch of pink and blues giving it that wild flower look. Chelsea wore a dreamy lace dress with a bohemian feel, and her hair was worn down and curly to show off her beautiful locks.

We made sure we timed the wedding so that we could get some bride and groom portraits at golden hour on the beach below at Scripps Beach. Golden Hour at the Martin Johnson House is a perfect place for a wedding as it softens the ocean and beach for photos.

One of my favorite parts of this wedding at the Martin Johnson House was when I was able to take Chelsea and Jesse alone and so some couple shots.  There is a building nest door to the Martin Johnson House that has a balcony that overlooks the cove, and wow, it was so fun to get some photos there. It’s one thing to be with everyone you know and love on your wedding day, but it’s a whole other level when you get to see the bride and groom together alone for the first time as husband and wife.  Seeing them was definitely something special, you can see for yourself as you look through the photos.
