La Jolla Engagement Photos in San Diego

Talk about a dream shoot in La Jolla, San Diego! Loved shooting Kelly and Chris in La jolla! La Jolla is such an epic place to take engagement photos. 

We got super lucky with the tide being so low at La Jolla, that day that it exposed all the reefs and created such amazing textures! One thing I always look out for when I’m photographing weddings or engagements at the beach is the tide.  The tide can change so drastically and can really determine where you're going to do photos because certain beaches disappear at high tide, especially in La Jolla.  

Kelly and Chris were so fun to photograph on the beach in La Jolla.  First off, they are a stunning couple! And secondly, they interacted so easily together! People say all the time that they are terrible at photos, but that’s what makes it a little fun for me! I love helping people come out of their shell and create an experience for them with each other!

Also, Kelly and Chris are so gracious! I had a pretty embarrassing moment and they were so sweet! I had them go out onto the exposed reef where there were tide pools to get some photos with the seagrass and beautiful textures. While they were walking back towards me, I was walking backwards looking through my camera and failed to see a tide pool behind me and completely fell in the tide pool! The only thing that didn’t get wet was my head and my arm sticking out holding my camera! hahah ahhh a humbling moment for sure! But was also pretty funny! Can add that to some of the ridiculous things that I do to get the shot! hahah. Also, I must add, I did get the shot!
