What to know about booking a Wedding Videographer
I’ve partnered with an AMAZING Videographer who I’ve worked with and has some crazy good skills! Seriously, every video I watch of his I get teary eyed! A lot of times when you’re booking vendors for your wedding you don’t know where to start and it can be hard to sift through to find the right one. So I’ve interviewed John, and he’s given us the in’s and out’s for how to find a videographer, and what you need to know before booking them!

What are some things people need to know about booking with a Videographer?
-Booking a videographer is no easy task! I would recommend asking your photographer or planner (if you're using one) who they would recommend. That helps shorten your list and guarantees that they will work as a team with your photographer and other vendors. Then, do some homework and watch several videos from each company. There are many different approaches to wedding filmmaking, so it's important you find a style that really resonates with you.
What are the most important things when it comes to deciding about your videographer?
Try and pinpoint what's most valuable to you. Full length edits from the entire day? Creative editing? Storytelling? One company might do a simple 3-5 minute highlight film in chronological order. The videos might look the exact some from couple to couple. This short recap of the day is a more simple approach, and that might be all you want!
Or maybe you value creative story-telling and want something more personalized. In this case, the videographer will generally weave together audio pieces from the day, thoughtfully selected footage, and emotive music to make your film unique.
Don't be afraid to communicate these to your videographer. He or she wants to work with you and is more than likely willing to create a custom package to make sure you're happy!
What do you need to know about clients before they book?
Not a whole lot! Just your full name, venue, and date. The bulk of the information we need comes later when we set out to discover the "heart behind you". It's a story-driven questionnaire designed to uncover what makes our couples unique and helps guide our approach to filming their wedding day.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Creating meaningful stories that will serve as a powerful reminder of your love and the love of those celebrating alongside you. And meeting some amazing couples in the process!
