The Darlington House Wedding in San Diego La jolla

The Darlington House in La Jolla, San Diego is another one of my favorite venues to photograph weddings at. The Darlington House is such a great venue if you are planning a wedding for a more intimate wedding or a big wedding! The venue allows for both!

The Darlington House is just two blocks away from La Jolla beaches and right next to downtown La Jolla. After talking with the venue host, I learned that the Darlington House was built in the 1920’s and Mrs. Darlington herself traveled all round the world for architectural inspiration! Throughout the house you can see bits and pieces from everywhere, like the Spanish and Moroccan tiles, which makes for some pretty epic settings for photos! A photographer's dream space!

Nita and Alex styled their wedding beautifully by keeping all the florals white, green and deep red maroon tones with Native Poppy. Nita wore a dreamy lace dress with a bohemian feel from Dreamers and Lovers. The wedding all came together beautifully and smoothly with Lisa Nicole Friesen as their Wedding Coordinator.

We made sure we timed the wedding so that we could get some bride and groom portraits at golden hour on the beach just blocks away in La jolla. Golden Hour at the Darlington House is a perfect place for a wedding as it softens the ocean and beach for photos.

One of my favorite parts of this wedding at the Darlington House was when I was able to take Nita and Alex alone and take some couple shots. It’s one thing to be with everyone you know and love on your wedding day, but it’s a whole other level when you get to see the bride and groom together alone for the first time as husband and wife. Seeing them was definitely something special, you can see for yourself as you look through the photos.
