Lake Cuyamaca Snow Engagement Photo Session in San Diego
When Cassandra messaged me that she wanted to take photos in the snow at Lake Cuyamaca, I was so so excited!! You can never go wrong with an engagement session at Lake Cuyamaca, San Diego! Lake Cuyamaca is one of those spots that will always be epic no matter the season!! Lake Cuyamaca is a perfect place to take engagement photos if you're looking for that mountain, rustic, and snowy background.
Lake Cuyamaca first off is huge! There is so much space to roam and take photos, so many different backgrounds you can use. You can use the mountains and trees to get that rugged moody look, or you can go down to the lake to give you that calm serene look. Or if you’re lucky and time it right, you can get it while it’s snowing and step into a winter wonderland!
Guess what? We were SO lucky and timed it perfectly to experience that winter wonderland! We decided to do the engagement session at Lake Cuyamaca in the morning because that’s when the storm would be best for photos. The other nice thing about shooting in the morning is that there are no people around! Especially living in San Diego where if it snows, everyone books it for Lake Cuyamaca or Julien. This gave us the opportunity to be the first ones on the snow and have it be untouched still.
Cassandra and Johnathan were so fun to photograph at Lake Cuyamaca in the snow. I love how they have such an adventurous spirit and were so excited to take photos in the snow! Cassandra took photos in a beautiful maroon dress and she was such a trooper to power through the cold. I kept offering for her to take breaks and put a jacket on, but she wanted to power through! I have to say, the dress was so worth it! The photos came out amazing!
Another thing I loved about Cassandra and Johnathan was their story, if you ever meet them, you really need to hear their story. You can tell that it has brought them so close together and I think you can see as you look through the photos. I hope you enjoy their engagement session as much as I enjoyed photographing it!!
