Malibu Beach Wedding in Los Angeles
I had the absolute privilege of shooting Stepanie and Evan’s wedding at a family friends home in Malibu, Los Angeles! Holy smokes! Amazing is an understatement! This Malibu home was such an epic venue for an intimate wedding.
To start off, I have to tell you about this Malibu home! Turns out that one of the groom’s friends had this home in his family since the 60’s, and the house hasn’t been touched since! The mid century home had the classic green carpet and bright yellow tiles, but we were loving every inch of it! The character of the home was so enchanting and brought you back in time! The outside of the home was so lush and green, next to a private beach that the ceremony overlooked. I don’t think I could have asked for a better location to shoot! To say I was in a photographers dream land is an understatement!
Not only was the Malibu home amazing, but their wedding was beautifully styled by keeping all the florals white and green with Kathi Mottram and paired it with Party Rental Creation. Stephanie wore a dreamy lace dress with a bohemian feel, and her hair and make-up was done by the amazing Golden Glow Beauty. The wedding all came together beautifully and smoothly with Sweet Blossom weddings as their Wedding Coordinator.
We made sure we timed the wedding so that we could get some bride and groom portraits at golden hour on the private Malibu beach. Golden hour at this Malibu home is a perfect place for a wedding as it softens the ocean and beach for photos. Stephaine and Even were so much fun to photograph, you could tell that joy was just overflowing out of them. Going through a year with Covid and changing venues multiple times, everyone was so thankful to finally be celebrating the couple!
One of my favorite parts of this wedding at the Martin Johnson House was when I was able to take Stephanie and Evan alone and do some couple shots. It’s one thing to be with everyone you know and love on your wedding day, but it’s a whole other level when you get to see the bride and groom together alone for the first time as husband and wife. Seeing them was definitely something special, you can see for yourself as you look through the photos.
